Size Matters

Not much larger than a silver dollar, TripTrak is small and lightweight (just
2.65 oz.) making it easily portable. This little device can be easily concealed inside a purse, backpack, pant or jacket pocket and kept out of sight. It can also be slipped a briefcase or prized set of golf clubs for safe-keeping.

Dual Technology - Precision

TripTrak offers a cutting-edge technology that combines the features of two major products: GPS locators and cellular phones. The satellite technology of GPS locators is used to track the device outside, while cellular tracking technology is used to pinpoint the device’s location indoors. This technology combines the powerful signals of transmitter towers for use indoors with the accurate satellite technology of GPS for outdoor uses. For example, if a device cannot be found using GPS satellites because the device is indoors, it then searches via transmitter towers until the device is located. The combination of both technologies ensures the device will be located. A brief description of cellular technology and GPS technology is provided below.

Cellular Technology Cellular technology can determine location using triangulation from transmitter towers. This has come to be known as Assisted Global Positioning System (“A-GPS”) or assisted GPS. Although it works indoors, this technology is not as accurate as GPS technology.
GPS Technology GPS technology uses satellites instead of transmitter towers. This technology provides much more accurate service, but does generally not work inside of buildings. A series of 24 satellites orbit at about 12,000 miles above the earth’s surface to support the transfer of information. These satellites use the mathematical concept of triangulation to determine within 10 meters, the exact location on earth.
